Tides complete sweep of Syracuse 05/15/2009 11:23 PM ETNorfolk Tides
Norfolk doubled up Syracuse 4-2 Friday night, completing a four-game sweep of the Chiefs. Matt Wieters helped power the Tides offense with a homer and two RBI, his third home run in the last two games. Justin Turner also added two hits and a home run, his first of the season. Andy Mitchell (3-1) earned the win by allowing one unearned run in 1.1 innings. Alberto Castillo and Matt Albers each followed with a shutout inning of relief before Jim Miller worked a scoreless ninth to earn his 9th save of the season. The four-game sweep was Norfolk's first over Syracuse since 1995. The Tides return to Harbor Park on Saturday night for the start of an eight-game homestand. Norfolk welcomes the Louisville Bats to town Saturday, with first pitch slated for 7:15.
