After nearly 10,000 votes were cast on the Norfolk Tides Facebook page, Gloucester Youth Baseball has won a contest in which the Tides organization will renovate their baseball field. This field makeover will include an upgrade to the playing surface and an improvement to existing dugouts, with the renovations taking place in mid-April.
The Tides and Norfolk State University Spartans will meet in an exhibition game at Harbor Park on Tuesday, April 5 at 5:45 pm. Tickets for the seven-inning game are $7 for adults and $5 for children and can be purchased in advance at the NSU Ticket Center on campus. Tickets can also be purchased at Harbor Park on the day of the game.

The Virginia Sports Hall of Fame has announced its class of 2016, and longtime Tides General Manager Dave Rosenfield has been selected for the honor. Rosenfield, who joined the Tides organization in 1962, is a four-time IL Executive of the Year. He's also a member of the IL Hall of Fame and the Hampton Roads Sports Hall of Fame.
Ron Johnson - the winningest manager in franchise history - will return to skipper the Tides in 2016. Mike Griffin will serve as Pitching Coach, Sean Berry will be the club's Hitting Coach and Jose Hernandez will return as a Field Coach. Mark Shires will return as the team's Athletic Trainer, while Trevor Howell will be the club's Strength and Conditioning Coach.
