The Columbus Clippers used an 11-run third inning to cruise to a 16-3 win over Norfolk Monday night.

Columbus plated 11 runs on seven hits in the decisive inning, the most runs scored in an inning by a Tides opponent since the Ottawa Lynx plated a franchise record 12 hits in the 8th inning on July 24, 2006.

Radhames Liz (0-1) took the loss for Norfolk, as he surrendered seven runs on seven hits in 2.1 innings of work. The Clippers pounded out 18 hits in the contest.

Melvin Dorta homered and had three hits to pace Norfolk's 11-hit attack, while Brandon Pinckney and Carlos Rojas each added two hits apiece.

With the loss, Norfolk finished its eight-game road trip at 6-2.

The Tides return home to Harbor Park on Tuesday night as they take on the Buffalo Bisons at 7:15.
